MyGovID outage log

Published 2026-05-31Updated 2026-07-25By MyID Editorial

MyID is not a live government status service. Use this page to check official Department notices, distinguish a wider service incident from an account-specific problem and preserve the details official support will need.

How to read this page

Where to check

Use sources in this order:

  1. The Department's customer notices, which has carried MyGovID and MyWelfare maintenance and incident updates.
  2. The exact MyGovID or MyWelfare page you were trying to use.
  3. The relevant official Help and Support route for an account-specific error.

Third-party reports may help identify a pattern but do not establish the cause, scope or resolution time.

Why this page exists

Two reasons:

For journalists and researchers

We make the underlying log available on request for journalists and academic researchers. Email press@myid.ie with a brief description of the work and we'll share a structured dataset.

Reporting an outage

If you're experiencing what you believe is a MyGovID, MyWelfare or Revenue outage right now:

  1. Confirm it isn't just you

Try a different network (Wi-Fi vs cellular). Try a different device. Try an incognito browser window. See our server errors guide.

  2. Take a screenshot with the timestamp visible

Keep it for your records and for any conversation with the service responsible for the transaction.

  3. Send us the report

Email tips@myid.ie. Include the time you observed the issue, the specific URL, the error message, your browser/device, and whether other people on your network are affected.

If a deadline may be affected

Do not assume an automatic extension. Keep the official notice, exact error, timestamp and any submission reference, then contact the service responsible for the deadline and follow its instructions.
